Arise & Shine!

"The revolution has begun. Quietly, maybe, but symptoms are bubbling up." So began an article in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution five years ago. The article goes on to describe the change occurring within the church. "This new movement . . . will have as big an impact as the Reformation. That was the 16th century upheaval when religious thinkers split open the feather pillow that had been the monolithic belief system of the Catholic Church. No one was able to put all the feathers back into the bag and it changed the world."

I believe God has begun another awakening in our midst. Two major awakenings occurred in America’s past. In the 1730s, the Great Awakening swept the nation followed by the Second Great Awakening in the 1830s. These periods were characterized by the salvation of unbelievers and the recommitment of believers. The catalyst was and is people’s desire for a genuine relationship with God that ignites a passion for Him.

We live in exciting times. God is awakening people through authentic, personal revival. Now is the time to get off the bench and in the game for God’s glory! Do you hear God calling, “Whom shall I send and who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8) Will you respond and let your story be a part of His story – history – by seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness? (Matthew 6:33) You can make a difference by God’s grace!
